George Kerr is the Gaffer on “Combat Hospital”. George, Elmer Jones and Judy Chui, along with a full crew of Canadian technicians and performers, just finished filming the CTV t.v. show “The Listener”. It was on “The Listener” that JudyI had a goodly number of interested individuals, to whom she could talk about our little community radio station, and the fundraising dollars that the raffle tickets helped raised. On behalf of CJAI, Judy would like to thank all the “Listener” crew and performers who purchased raffle tickets.
By the way, a Gaffer is the head of the lighting/electrics department. He and the Key Grip (who is the head of the grip department, which handles all the flags, stands, and rigging work & equipment), work closely with the Cinematographer or Director of Photography to light a set, whether the set is on location or in a studio space.
In the photos George is on the set of “Combat Hospital”, a new t.v. series set in Kandahar, Afghanistan. The set is actually in Toronto, and is designed to replicate the look of the military compound/hospital of the allied forces.
Congratulations George on winning the Maple Leaf hockey game tickets!
