[7 May 2012] – A surprise 70th birthday party was arranged and executed by Susan Filson and Dayle Gowan, co-hosts of the Udder Morning Show during the program’s third hour. Brought under the pretense that the hosts had appointments on the mainland, Terry, host of the Friday Morning Show came to the CJAI studio to cover the last hour of their show. The surprise worked and with cake and bubbly, a dozen radio volunteers showed up.

The fabulous birthday cake was baked and decorated by Amherst Islander Lyn Fleming.

Terry received a birthday phone call from his friend Joe Cote. They met in 1972 at CBC Toronto. Joe was host of CBC Radio’s Metro Morning for 13-years, then went on to host Ontario Morning.

Monday, April 30th on the Udder Morning Show, co-hosts Susan Filson and Dayle Gowan announced the lucky winners from last week’s Island Radio Fund Drive. This included the auction items and the end of the week draws.

[1 April 2012] – On April 1st, ISLAND RADIO, Amherst Island Public Radio, had a birthday… it has been on the air 24-7 for 6-years. Thanks to all the great volunteers and ‘HAL’ our programming computer.
[17 March 2012] – Dee McNeil of Kingston is the lucky winner of two NHL hockey tickets and $50 in cash. Ms. McNeil and Kris Abbot, folk-pop artists, were guests on the Wolf’s Den, February 8th, where they each bought a $5 ticket for the CJAI fundraiser. With only 200 tickets printed, the $5 purchase won a
prize valued at $497. On Saturday, March 24th, Dee and Kris will be sitting in the Air Canada Centre watching the Toronto Maple Leafs play the New York Rangers.
