January 16th, 2016 – This Monday morning on the Udder Morning Show, we will be having an interview with Scott Weidensaul, of Project Snowstorm. This project started in the winter of 2013/2014 to study Snowy Owls that had migrated south in historic numbers that winter. Captured owls were banded and some were fitted with solar powered GPS backpacks, that report tracking data back to the project headquarters over the cellphone network.
This winter, three of the owls have visited Amherst Island, the first arrived in mid December and the latest arrived in the past week.

Listeners can catch Janet Scott’s Birding Report on Monday morning, 7:30 – 8:00 and we will talk to Scott Weidensaul between 8:00 and 8:30 for an update on Project Snowstorm, and in particular the owls that are here on the island.
